Using stone samples to make a decision

A small sample can answer good questions.

01

What a sample can tell you

A sample offers an indication of tone, grain and the feel of a finish. Place it beside the actual materials in your project and view it in different orientations. It cannot represent every variation in the lot or the composition of an entire wall.

02

Prepare a useful comparison

Keep the initial selection to a few options and note what matters about each. Compare them in daylight and under the proposed lighting. If the application has a specific performance requirement, request the relevant documentation too: a sample does not replace a test.

03

Tell us the context

When requesting samples, tell us your role, intended use, project stage and location. Include an approximate area or date if you have one. Our team will confirm availability, format and terms before arranging delivery, and can guide the selection if you have not yet chosen a material.

We start by listening

Your project has a place to begin.

Choose up to four materials or ask us for guidance. Tell us where you imagine the stone and what stage your project is at.
