Understand what you are comparing when you compare a price.
The stone’s name does not tell the whole story
Selection, the appearance of the lot, format, thickness and finish influence a supply proposal. Two quotations carrying the same commercial name may refer to different materials and scopes. Ask for each item to be clearly identified.
The layout changes material yield
A large island, vein continuity or particular cut-outs may require more slab area than the surface visible at the end. A dimensioned drawing allows the fabricator to estimate that yield and the work required.
Compare equivalent quotations
Distinguish material, fabrication, transport and installation. Confirm what each proposal includes, its terms and applicable taxes. For useful guidance, share dimensions, location, use, intended finish and planned date. A generic figure per square metre can conceal important differences.
