How to choose a marble slab
The whole slab changes the conversation.
From a detail to the whole
A close-up photograph may show an especially attractive area without explaining the entire slab. Request a complete frontal image with orientation and dimensions to understand vein distribution, tonal changes and areas that need closer study.
Place the project over the stone
Overlay the intended layout with the professional who will fabricate the material. Identify visible faces, cut-outs, joints and neighbouring surfaces. Any intention of continuity must be checked against the size and actual selection of the slabs.
Record the decision
Before fabrication, agree the selection, faces, direction and finish. Shared visual references help the studio, client and workshop avoid different interpretations. If something changes on site, check the layout again before cutting.
